This being my third year at STEM School Highlands Ranch, I am so excited to return for another year! I am a native of Colorado, having graduated from Colorado State University with a BFA in Art and a minor in Spanish. Several years ago I returned to school to complete Regis University's Teacher Education Program. My previous experience has included being a 2nd grade teacher, 1st-3rd grade reading specialist, and PreK-8th grade art teacher. Before I discovered a love for teaching, I worked as a graphic designer specializing in print design. My personal interests include painting, travel, and outdoor activities, such as hiking, skiing, and paragliding.
I am excited to be a part of the innovative team here at STEM. I am currently working on my master’s degree through Project Dragonfly’s Global Field Program during which I am studying inquiry-based and participatory education in areas such as community-based and wildlife conservation. So far this program has sent me to Belize, Australia, and most recently, Kenya. These unique experiences have ignited new ideas to bring back to the school and into the classroom in order to create fun and engaging experiences for the students.
