I am thrilled to be part of the STEM School Highlands Ranch team as a Second Grade Teacher and Instructional Coach! I previously helped opened two STEM schools in Adams County, and taught in two International Baccalaureate schools. In Singapore, I taught middle school math in an IB American International School. I also created elementary and middle school math inquiry based curriculum and assessments for this school with an extremely diverse student population.
My Masters is in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, with a focus in Mathematics and Science. I also hold an endorsement in Secondary Mathematics. I partnered with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Colorado School of Mines during the summer creating and teaching “The Science of Energy” for Colorado Educators and CSM graduate students. I have presented at many National Science Teacher Association Conferences and STEM Forums across the country. I have also co-led experiential science trips in Tanzania and Hawaii with teachers in graduate programs at the University of Colorado Denver.
I love to travel, hike, run, scuba dive and be on adventures with my family. I am looking forward to an exciting year and encouraging problem-solving, critical thinking skills, and developing confident and capable students in the STEM environment!
