Hello, my name is Kent Schnacke and I teach High School Science. During the 2019-2020 school year I am teaching High School Biology, Honors Biology, and AP Biology. I am very excited to be teaching at STEM Highlands Ranch this year as it is my first year teaching as well!
I received by B.S. in Biology from Colorado State University as well as a P.M.S. in Non-Profit Management from CSU, Go RAMS! While in graduate school I taught several undergraduate biology and zoology lab courses and began to realize my passion for teaching.
I worked in informal scientific education for several years after school as a zookeeper of the birds and mammals at the Downtown Aquarium and as a citizen science designer for Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Denver Botanic Gardens.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife, running the High Line Canal with my dog, and playing card and board games with friends and family.
As a teacher at STEM Highlands Ranch I bring real world experience to the field of biology and a passion for helping others realize and experience the wonders of biology. In my time at STEM already, I have become the supervisor for STEMed Club and the Science National Honor Society. If you are interested in either organization, or have any other questions please feel free to reach out to me.
