This is my first year working at STEM as one of  the In-House Substitute teachers for the school. As an in-house substitute teacher my role includes to: implement, support, and follow classroom teacher lesson plans, ensure students are on task, maintain school records (attendance), enforce safety procedures, support various learning styles, model appropriate professional behavior, enforce appropriate classroom behavior management, and perform administrative duties (assist in hall, support/clean up, and driveline duties).
I am originally from Yauco, Puerto Rico and have been living in Colorado for 12 years.
On my time off I love to cook and bake for loved ones and staff at STEM. I love getting creative in the kitchen, trying out new recipes and then making them my own.
I have a BA in Psychology and a MA in Clinical Mental Health. I worked for many years as a Pediatric Behavioral Health Therapist and a Child and Family Therapist specializing in trauma, however I wanted a change and the opportunity to be in a classroom came up. I have been so inspired by the teachers and students in STEM that I have decided to pursue an alternative licensing program in Spanish for K-12.
