About Me

I earned a B.A. in Asian Studies, Chinese Civilization & Language, from Amherst College in 1994. I also hold an M.A. in Journalism from UC Berkeley and completed a Master’s program in Chinese Studies at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center (SAIS) in 1996. I have taught English in China twice and love traveling in China. The 2020-2021 school year will be my second year at STEM.

Prior to teaching at STEM, I taught Chinese and French at Highlands Ranch High School and Cresthill Middle School for 4 years. I also taught Chinese during that time at the Great Wall Chinese Academy in Highlands Ranch. Before that, I taught English at Hinkley High School in Aurora for 9 years and at North High School and the New America School (simultaneously) for one year in Denver. I became interested in the STEM School after realizing the effectiveness of problem-based learning. I love drawing, painting, walking my dog, reading, watching movies and learning languages! I grew up in Oklahoma and then Colorado and graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1990. I love Colorado! 我爱科罗拉多州!
