Teaching science is one of the greatest joys of my life, but getting to observe students learning and growing each day is the most rewarding experience. Learning and teaching have been central to my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Colorado and graduated from Berthoud High School in Berthoud Colorado. I attended Colorado State University and earned a B.S. in Biology and Anthropology. Soon after graduating college I moved to Sweden and earned a Masters in Science Education from Stockholm University, I also hold a Masters in Educational Leadership from Western State College in Gunnison Colorado.
Over the course of my career in education I have taught chemistry, biology, physics, physical science, environmental issues and applied lab science classes. I have helped develop intensive experiential education programs as well as outdoor education programs. In addition to over a decade in the classroom as a teacher I have also served as a principal and assistant principal for seven years. I am excited to teach at STEM Highlands Ranch, bringing science to life for my students is something I look forward to each day!
Outside of the classroom I enjoy traveling with my family, photography, the occasional video game, reading and of course LEGOS!!
