Dominique Mancuso's Bio

I am so thrilled to be starting my third school year with STEM School Highlands Ranch. In 2018 I started part-time with the 3rd grade team with the goal of contributing to the community and school that my kindergartener was beginning his educational journey at. After a 3rd grade STEM student told me “Mrs. Dominique, I used to hate math and now I love math because of you”, I was hooked. I found so much meaning in working with the STEM students that I couldn’t resist coming back, and I set my sights on sharing my love for math with our students full-time. I patiently took the open Full-Time Substitute position with STEM where I took on as many math classes as I could until the opportunity arose for me to fill a secondary math teaching position that opened in the 19-20 school year. My path gave me the unique opportunity to have worked with nearly every grade level at STEM and to have met the majority of our student body. I am grateful that I feel so connected to all of our students and I look forward to meeting any new students for the 20-21 school year.

Before STEM, I worked in Capital Markets for mortgage companies. As Senior Trader, I was responsible for hedging the Mortgage Pipeline. As borrowers lock in rates for 30-45 day terms, the market continues to move and the mortgage company is exposed to that rate movement. It was my job to mitigate that risk. I enjoyed the high stakes and fast paced environment, as well as the analytical skills required to perform it.

I received my Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Northern Colorado. I filled my schedule with as many of the math and statistics based courses offered and was honored to be awarded the Scholar award by the Econ department in my senior year. I later tested for my Series 7 and Series 63 FINRA licenses.

In our spare time, my family enjoys traveling to pursue our passion for kiteboarding. I love playing in the sand with my now 2nd grade son, reading a good book, and renovating/flipping homes.
